Conditions of Use
Using the shop.
The first time you use this website to place an order, you will need to register on the site. Your name, postal address and email address is collected and you will be asked to choose a Username and Password. This information is stored in the website database and makes subsequent orders quicker and more convenient.
Prices are displayed in Pounds Sterling (GBP), but you will be able to pay in your own currency. Overseas customers are responsible for any import taxes and Customs Duty levied.
Make your selection from the products available by clicking "add to Cart". The total in the Shopping Basket is displayed in the top left of your screen.
Please be aware that if you have previously browsed the site but
left before completing a purchase, previously viewed and selected items
may be present in your basket.
Once you are ready to proceed with payment click to "checkout".
A summary description of your order is sent elecronically to Worldpay for payment processing. At this point you are transferred to the Worldpay secure server where you are asked to complete payment information. The Yarn Yard has no access to this information at any time.
Worldpay records the payment details with the order details and this produces a transaction. This information is passed to the card issuer for authentication. The card issuer returns an "authorised" or a "declined" response which is displayed to you. This checking protects you against credit/debit card fraud.
If the transaction is successful Worldpay will send you and The Yarn Yard a confirmation email, confirming the Transaction details.
Worldpay does not store your card details, so this process must be completed with each order. This is done to protect your financial information and is particularly important when more than one person has access to a computer, and offers protection in the event of a computer being stolen.
Fraud Prevention.
WorldPay supports the full range of fraud-prevention methods including online transaction authorisation, cardholder verification (i.e. via Verified by Visa and MasterCard Secure Code), and Address Verification Service (AVS). In addition, WorldPay has developed several in-house fraud detection/protection tools that are designed to avoid hassle and minimise financial loss (including the WorldPay Guarantee which can protect you against financial loss due to fraud).
Futurepay
Futurepay is part of Worldpay and provides the subscription service for The Yarn Yard Clubs. It offers the same high level of security and protection as Worldpay. From time to time it may be necessary to change the Club Subscription prices, for example in the event of a change in Postal rates charged by the Post Office, or in the event of changes in yarn prices. If this needs to be done I will contact you by email to let you know 28 days beforehand.
Photographs
I do my best to ensure the best colour representation I can offer. Computer monitors and settings vary and I cannot be responsible for this variation.
Dyelots
Some yarns and fibres are one-off colourways and some are repeatable. Dyelots vary. I can dye up to three skeins at once for a single project, but this is the closest I can get to a matched dyelot.

From time to time the website may need to be taken offline for maintainence and upgrading.
